WELCOME TO AREQUIPA!
Although it is Peru’s second largest city, Arequipa has a small-town feel and people will be quick to make you feel welcome. Arequipeños are resolutely proud of their city – and they should be. Built from beautiful white ‘sillar’ stone, the whole historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and gives Arequipa its nickname, “The White City”. And with 300 days of sunshine a year, and an altitude of 2,328 metres, you can wake up to blue skies and a pleasant climate every day!
